Kiso

Management system for martial arts academies of any discipline, with both sides on the same platform: instructor and student.

Kiso

Overview

For the instructor or academy owner, Kiso covers the whole operation: financial control and income statement, tuition, overdue payments, product sales, a belt progression system, championship organization, schedule, announcements and class engagement. For the student, it is where they follow their own path: attendance, recorded feedback, graduations, plan and payment dates, purchases at the academy, a personal schedule of championships and events with the amounts paid, and a digital graduation certificate.

Flexible attendance

Attendance was built to adapt to the instructor, not the other way around. It works by manual check-off, by a QR Code generated and rotated for each class, by live check-in with a camera doing facial identification on entry and exit, and by facial recognition on training photos, which marks attendance automatically for whoever shows up in the image.

Privacy and sensitive data

Facial identification features handle sensitive data. Each implementation must define purpose, legal basis, transparency, retention and access controls appropriate to its context.

Why I built it

It also came out of a real need, not a product idea. That is why Kiso adapts to the academy instead of demanding the academy adapt to it: attendance has four different modes because every instructor runs class their own way, and a system that ignores that simply stops being used.

What it does

  • Financial control, income statement, tuition and overdue payments
  • Belt progression system with digital certificate
  • Championship organization and academy schedule
  • Product sales through the platform
  • Four ways to record attendance, including facial recognition
  • Full history for both instructor and student
